Weekend Recap: CrossFit Kids

This past weekend, our coaching staff had the opportunity to take the CrossFit Kids course, and it was an incredible experience. We learned not only how to properly structure classes for children, but also how powerful this program can be in shaping them for life.

What really stuck with us is the lifelong impact that fitness, community, and resilience can have when introduced early. Hearing success stories from coaches in the CrossFit community confirmed that we’re on the right path and that this program is needed now more than ever.

Why CrossFit Kids Matters

In today’s world, kids spend more time online and less time connecting face-to-face. CrossFit Kids gives them the chance to:

  • Build resilience by tackling hard but fun challenges.

  • Learn teamwork & conflict resolution in a supportive setting.

  • Develop lifelong habits for health and fitness.

  • Choose their tribe—surrounding themselves with like-minded peers who lift them up.

Not every child wants to play sports, and that’s okay. But every child needs to move, exercise, and to learn what it means to belong to a community. Whether your kid is an athlete, an artist, or anything in between, CrossFit Kids provides a foundation for confidence, strength, and joy in movement.

What’s Next

Over the coming days, we’ll be sending out a survey to our members. This isn’t just a “Do you have kids?” census. We want to know:

  • Which of you are ready to commit your children to this program.

  • The ages of your kids.

  • What days and times work best for your family.

We’ll start with our community first, ensuring our families are taken care of, and then we’ll expand to invite more families from the Baton Rouge area.

Our Vision

CrossFit changed many of our lives as adults, but imagine if we’d had access to it as kids. That’s the opportunity we want to create for the next generation: to learn that fitness is fun, that hard things can be overcome, and that community makes us stronger.

We left the course reminded of something simple but powerful: kids aren’t so different from adults. They laugh, they learn, they thrive when challenged. And maybe the best lesson of all? We should all be a little more childlike. Curious, excited, and eager to play.

We’re beyond pumped to launch CrossFit Kids at GEAUX. Stay tuned for the survey, spread the word, and get ready because there won’t be another program like this in town.

Our greatest accomplishment as a gym will be the impact we make on the future generation of leaders.
