Take It Easy On Yourself Sometimes

Some days are going to be better than others and it’s ok to take it easy. Sometimes we get into these mental ruts where we are too hard on ourselves. Our bodies keep giving us the signals that we’re tired but instead of listening, we chalk it up as weakness and push through the funk.

Mental funk is different from physical. It is ok to push through a mental funk. Maybe you are in a bad mood or have a negative attitude about your capabilities. You can overcome and push through that and chances are you’ll feel better after.

Physical is different. The things that should feel easy feel really hard and you don't even know why. There is nothing wrong with something not feeling good and scaling it back or substituting a movement all together.

Our ultimate goal at GCF is longevity and the only way you’re going to continue working is to take it easy on yourself from time to time. Don’t get caught up in a hard ass mentality that doesn’t allow you take a break from the intensity. Your primary focus needs to be consistency, not RXing the workout everyday or going heavy/hard. Showing up- that’s the main focus.
