New Year, New What? Why? How?

SATURDAY

It’s a new year with a clean slate which means you’re probably feeling motivated to make some changes. “New Year, New You” is a slogan we’ve heard time and time again, but is it an accurate portrayal of what’s really going on?

Are you doing anything different? If so, what? Why? How?

If you don’t have the answers to these questions, it’s the perfect place to start.

It’s easy to say you want to do something. In the beginning it will feel easy to implement those changes towards your goals because you’re motivated. Just like gasoline in a car on a road trip, you’ll eventually run out and have to refuel.

That is why it’s import to know the what, how, and why behind your goals. The most important one being “why”.

When the motivation runs out, you’ll have to remind yourself WHY you are working towards that goal.

Our advice is to break up your big goal into 4 mini goals and try and accomplish something every 3 months. Each goal a little bigger than the one before. Set a date for a check in and hold yourself to it. This will help keep you motivated throughout the year and also help you build discipline because there is always another check point around the corner.

So if we’re talking road trips- rather than waiting for the gas light to come on and stressing about the next available gas station, stop when you have a half or quarter tank left and go ahead and refuel. Simple right? Lucky for you, Geaux CrossFit never runs out of gas and we’re always here to keep you on the road and moving forward.

P.S. We’re a big fan of metaphors. Can you tell?
