What To Expect During The Open

WEDNESDAY

It’s finally here! This week kicks off the CrossFit Open! Here are some things you need to know:

  1. The workout of the week will be announced every Thursday at 7pm (For 5 weeks total)

  2. Thursday’s daily blog will not include the workout because we won’t know what it is until later that night.

  3. The workout will be scheduled during our regular hours every Friday. Sometimes we program the workout for Monday as well but not often.

  4. You can do the workout as many times as you’d like but 2 should be enough. Only do it again if you feel like you messed up and can do better. You have from Thursday at 7pm until Monday at 7pm to do the workout.

  5. Submit your scores as soon as you finish the workout and submit at least by 6pm Monday. Everyone tries to submit their scores last minute and that slows down the system.

  6. Every Thursday we will will do a recovery style workout followed by ROMWOD (STRETCHING).

  7. Class times on Friday can run a little longer due to the nature of some of the workouts. If you aren’t doing the Open, you won’t need a judge but understand the gym environment might feel a little more chaotic than usual.

  8. We allow you to do the workout during class times as long as it’s not interfering with the current class. Otherwise, you will need to plan to do your repeats during Open gym times. Ask the coach first.

  9. If you have the ability to Rx at least 1 rep of a workout, then submit an RX score. 1 rep of RX beats the best scaled score in the world.

  10. You might encounter workouts that you are not strong enough for or don’t have the skill set. That’s ok! You just figured out a goal for next year!

I think that covers most of it. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. It’s not too late to sign up. The links are below. Please make sure you take the judges course!
