Snacking: It Adds Up

WEDNESDAY

When you get bored do you find yourself walking to the pantry or break room for a little snack?  You may want to think twice about those handfuls of almonds you keep throwing in your mouth between meals. Snacks add up. If you are consuming too many calories, you won’t lose weight and you may even gain weight.  To avoid snacking, try preparing 3-4 meals for work.  They need:

-a protein the size of your palm

-as many vegetables as your heart desires

-A fist full of carbohydrates (fruit, potatoes, oats/Whole foods)

-A thumb size serving of fat.

-Drink plenty of water. Chew Slowly. Put your fork down after each bite.

Eat these meals every 3-4 hours and you'll be snacking less often.

If you do snack, be sensible! Choose foods that add nourishment to your body. Below is a little something for you to nerd out on.
