Testimonial - Brian Roberts

"I've tried P90x, Insanity and every other hardcore workout plan out there and none has given me the results that Geaux CrossFit has. Johnny and Amber are always right behind you: instructing on form, giving pointers on technique and giving encouragement when you need it most. CrossFit is the best workout I've ever had, but it's the people that make it such a great experience."

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a fitness and conditioning system used by many elite athletes, military, police and fire departments all over the world.  It is highly effective at creating what we call “elite fitness”.  This is very similar to what a martial artist would call a black belt.  It’s both a fitness and skill based system that takes both training and practice to master, which is something that can take years.  CrossFit combines functional movements and high intensity in a pattern that has no pattern - it is constantly varied.  It was specifically designed to develop general physical preparation and skills, which means it can be used by anyone for anything - from simply improving your way of life to helping your perform in a sport at an elite level.  People that CrossFit are usually astounded by the results - they are suddenly able to do things that were never in their realm of possibility like a rope climb, pull up or handstand - so for them, they can quite literally, “Do the Impossible!”

World Class Fitness in 100 Words

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

Johnny Blount

Hi, I’m Johnny Blount. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My earlier years consisted of cross country running, kickboxing and swimming. I joined the navy out of high school and went to San Diego, California where I trained at BUDs and became a NAVY SEAL. While I was in the navy I heard about CrossFit and fell in love with it. It is the most challenging, intense and effective training that I have come across. My family and I moved back to Baton Rouge early 2010. It’s always been a passion of mine to coach at a gym where people are dedicated to and passionate about being physically and mentally fit. I am CrossFit Level 1 Certified, CrossFit Running Certified, and CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certified.

Hi! My name is Amber Leonard and I am a level 1 certified CrossFit trainer. Since I was kid I have enjoyed the aspects of team sports and competition. When I stumbled upon CrossFit, it was a match made in heaven. I felt motivated, determined, and accomplished. These feelings followed me out of the gym and into my everyday life. CrossFit has totally changed my life for the better and that experience is what drives me today. Every day in the gym is an opportunity to improve someone’s quality of life and that’s the greatest reward. I couldn’t ask for a better job.
